Here is what my French corner looks like!
French Phonemic Alphabet:
One of the tools that my students use most often is our French Phonemic Alphabet banner. This banner shows each letter and the sound that it makes. It comes in really handy when students are trying to read simple phrases! Click here to check out this resource in my TPT store!
French Seasons Cards:
At the beginning of each FSL block, students practice saying the season. I have a sentence stem that says "La saison est _________." Students use this sentence stem as well as the bulletin board display to tell their French Talking Buddy what the season is.
One of my classroom jobs is "chief meteorologist". This person changes the weather each day for us. Then, during French class, students practice telling their French Talk Buddy what the weather is like. You can find the French Season and Weather Package in my TPT store here.
The last thing that we practice each and every day is saying the date. I have a volunteer come up and point to the date on our classroom calendar. Then students practice saying the date to their French Talk Buddy (FTB). As you can probably tell, I am all about the French Oral Language Development! This French Calendar is available HERE.
French Birthday Board:
We use this board whenever it is a student's birthday. In the picture below, you can see what the board looks like before students pictures are added. I add student pictures under the month that they are born. This board helps us to remember to sing "Bonne Fête" to the birthday boy or girl. The kids LOVE seeing their faces on display. I hope that you are able to incorporate some of these ideas in your own classroom! Pin the image below so that you can revisit this post in the future!
Have a Sweet Week!
